On March 31st, Vincom Contemporary Art Center (VCCA) had the honor of welcoming the high-level diplomatic delegation as part of the State visit to Vietnam by the King and Queen of Belgium.
The high-level diplomatic delegation from Belgium visiting and working with VCCA included Mr. Rudi Vervoort, Minister-President of the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region; Mr. Jo de Witte, Senior Diplomatic Advisor; Mr. Hamza Faki Yesilordek, Diplomatic Spokesperson; and Ms. Trần Tuyết Trang, Economic & Trade Counselor at the Brussels-Capital Region Enterprise Agency.
Dr. Lê Mai Lan, Vice Chairwoman of Vingroup and Chairwoman of VinUniversity, together with Ms. Nguyễn Trà My, Director of VCCA, represented Vingroup in hosting the welcoming ceremony.
Notably, during the meeting at VCCA, Mr. Rudi Vervoort, Minister-President of the Government of the Brussels-Capital Region, highly appreciated the professionalism of VCCA’s cultural and artistic initiatives, as well as its efforts and commitment to supporting and fostering young Vietnamese artists. Mr. Vervoort also shared plans for several upcoming art projects in the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium, and expressed his desire to promote collaboration in artist residencies, exhibitions, and cultural exchange programs between the Brussels-Capital Region and Vincom Contemporary Art Center (VCCA), Vietnam.
During the reception, Dr. Lê Mai Lan shared insights on Vingroup’s cultural activities and sustainable development strategy, while expressing sincere gratitude for the interest and visit of the high-level Belgian diplomatic delegation.
As part of the visit, the delegation also took the time to explore the ongoing exhibition "Like Layers of Alluvium” at VCCA and engaged in conversations with artists Trịnh Tuân and Công Kim Hoa about Vietnamese lacquer painting and their three-decade-long artistic journey.
